I swallowed a camera today!

As I write this blog, this tiny camera with a strobe light and a wireless transmitter is photographing me from the inside.

A recent blood test indicated an iron deficiency and my doctor is concerned that there might be some internal bleeding. A gastroscopy and a colonoscopy showed nothing. These procedures cannot reach the small intestine so I am undergoing a capsule endoscopy. This camera will take 7000 photographs as it travels through my digestive system and transmit them , during a six hour priod, to the external receiver which you see below.
I will return the receiver to the doctor later today and he will view the results and I should know something in a couple of weeks. In the meantime the camera will pass through my system and be flushed away.

A few different views of the garden

This is where I have my morning coffee and breakfast. I call these yellow chairs "mothers' chairs". It is where the mothers sit and watch the children at play.

My breakfast of corn flakes, banana, raspberries, and blueberries.

This is the view from my afternoon tea chair.

Mary is threatening to lop the tops off these trees at the north end of the pool but I am fighting the idea. I think they give the garden a look of Italy.

I have my afternoon tea in this chair.

This a shady corner of the garden thats been ignored for years. I have planted hostas, lilies, white astilbe and some pink astilbe bulbs so far. Oh yes and impatiens in the front. We will see what happens.

Sophie's Kitchen

Mary and Ed each have 2 grandchildren, only one of whom is a girl, Sophie, age 4.

I put tpgether this little area for her in our playground and call it Sophie's kitchen.

I am anxious for her to see it, play in it, and share with some of the girl cousins, Maybe the boys too! She can go in it and close the gate shut behind her.
